Fran Drescher is killing the single life game, and it’s because she has a “friend with benefits” on call for when she needs him.
“The Nanny” star is opening up on what it’s like to be living her best single life, and her secret weapon is a casual partner. As it turns out, she doesn’t have the time right now for a committed relationship.
“You know I’m kind of dating myself and it’s going quite well. I’m not dating,” she told Page Six at the NBCUniversal New York Press Junket on Thursday. “I have my gay ex-husband who I love and he fulfills a lot of needs. I have someone on the side who is a friend with benefits.”
She continued, “It’s delightful and delicious but I’ve got a big life.” She’s also voiced that the best part about having a “someone on the side” is being comfortable enough to talk about what she wants.
“[We’re] very comfortable with each other and we have our routine. It’s always the same experience. We really don’t go out. We don’t go to restaurants. We don’t date. What we do, we do great,” she revealed.
So what do they do together if they’re not going on dates? Besides the obvious, there are some other at-home tricks up Drescher’s sleeve. “He comes over, we hang out and we do the hot tub and I make us some food, and we lay in bed and maybe we’ll watch tennis together, whatever it is or a movie,” she explains. “We talk, we have good conversations.”
Drescher did not reveal the identity of her mystery suitor.
Drescher has been busy recently as she works on bringing a version of "The Nanny" to broadway alongside ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson.
