Gayle King opens up about quarantine weight gain: ‘The weight struggle is real!’


Gayle King just shared details with her fans about her weight gain over the last couple of months during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CBS News anchor shared her journey to her official Instagram page.
“CRISIS! The weight struggle is real! fatter than I’ve been in long time .. & scared to get a pedicure (big sigh),” the anchor captioned the post, alongside a slideshow of pictures showing herself on a scale.

At the start of the slideshow, the 65-year-old weighed in at 159.2 lbs. King’s current weight was 172.2lbs.

“Swipe left for the way we were ...ideal weight says Dr is 163... not happening anytime soon .. blaming corona quarantine & Halloween candy corns I just bought! Make it stop!” King added.

King isn’t the only one experiencing some weight gain amid quarantine. “A. You have pretty feet. B. I’m in the same boat. Can’t stop eating ice cream,” Bravo host Andy Cohen commented on her post.

“CBS This Morning’s” Gayle King is most recently known for her 2019 captivating interview with R Kelly. The journalist interviewed Kelly after he was arrested in February 2019 on ten counts of aggravated sexual abuse.

The special included an expanded version of the conversation between Kelly and King, which originally ran 80 minutes. It also featured King speaking with two of the women currently living with Kelly - Azriel Clary and Joycelyn Savage. Both have defended Kelly.
