George Clooney admits the ‘really dumb thing’ he and wife Amal did with their twins

George Clooney and his wife may be experiencing some communication issues in their household.

When speaking about his kids in an interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the 59-year-old actor said, “We did a really dumb thing, which is, they speak fluent Italian,” E! News reported.

The actor shares his three-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, with wife and human rights lawyer, Amal Clooney. The family of four currently lives in Lake Como, Italy.

Despite being only three-years-old, both of his twins are “fluent” in Italian, Clooney said in the interview.

The Oscar winner joked that his children talk back to him in Italian, and admitted neither he nor his wife speak the language.

“I’ll say, ‘Go back in and clean your room,’ and they’ll be like, ‘Eh, papa stranzo,” Cooney said in a fake Italian accent.

Despite the their language barrier, Clooney described how the family has been staying busy throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Laundry and mopping and dishes. I wood stained the entire house,” he shared. When Kimmel asked him if he had done a good job, Clooney responded, “Probably not, but it kept me busy for a while. It kept me out of the room with the kids speaking Italian.”

The actor is also responsible for all of the cooking around the house.

“I cook for the family. I’m the chef,” he said. “My wife, she does amazing things. She gets journalists out of jail in countries like Azerbaijan and Egypt, but when it comes to cooking, she makes reservations.”

Clooney joked that at one point Amal forgot to add water to the pot while attempting to boil an egg.

Clooney ended the interview gushing about his wife, saying, “I am always proud to be standing next to her.”
