J.K. Rowling Launches New ‘Harry Potter’ Website for Housebound Families

“Harry Potter” fans have a new way to spend their time while staying indoors amid the coronavirus pandemic.

If you’ve read all the books and seen all the movies more times than you can count, J.K. Rowling has now created an immersive website that will give muggles hours and hours (if not days) of fun while in quarantine.

“Parents, teachers and carers working to keep children amused and interested while we’re on lockdown might need a bit of magic, so I’m delighted to launch HarryPotterAtHome.com,” the iconic author tweeted.

Included in the free website are videos, puzzles, illustrations, quizzes and articles that transport children and adults to the wizarding world from the comfort of their homes.

“The Harry Potter At Home hub aims to help inspire you, your family, your friends, and especially children all around the world to read for pleasure and enjoy the stories, as well as bring some magic-infused joy and entertainment to all the family,” read a message on the website.

“But the hub is also a place for those of you who have loved Harry Potter for decades: a place for you to feel the warmth of the fire in the Gryffindor common room or a much-needed hug from Mrs Weasley.”

Other perks of the hub include an online store, fan club, an archive of J.K.Rowling’s writing, and downloadable mobile games.

As an added bonus, Rowling teamed up with audio publisher-distributor Audible and ebook supplier OverDrive to offer free audio and digital editions of the first Potter book, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” during the month of April.

And just like that, your boredom has been magically cured.
