JoJo Fletcher Will Host ‘The Bachelorette’ While Chris Harrison Quarantines for 14 Days

The coronavirus pandemic continues to upend “The Bachelorette.”

While filming on the new season ramped up last month, a new plot twist finds longtime host Chris Harrison temporarily handing over the reins to JoJo Fletcher, according to Us Weekly.

Fletcher, who was the lead on the dating show’s 12th season, will fill in for a few episodes while Harrison quarantines for 14 days.

Harrison had left the production to take his son to college in Texas. Upon returning to the set, he was required to remain in isolation for 14 days. The 49-year-old is expected to return to his original role in time for the final episodes of the season.

The show is currently filming at a private resort in La Quinta, California. Prior to filming, the entire cast and crew were required to quarantine at the location for 14 days to ensure everyone’s safety amid the pandemic.

Since Harrison left to bring his son to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, he will remain in quarantine for the duration of the two weeks.

This is the latest hiccup to affect the show’s upcoming 16th season.

Clare Crawley was initially named the season’s lead, but after filming commenced she decided to withdraw from the competition as she reportedly fell in love with one of the contestants, the outlet confirmed.
