Kathy Griffin is officially healing after undergoing surgery to remove part of her lung.

On her official Instagram page, the 60-year-old actress gave a video update for the first time since her procedure. Griffin promised her fans that she would give a behind-the-scenes look at her recovery for the next several months.
“My voice is like, really hoarse and I don’t want to scare people,” Griffin said in the post, noting that she has a sense of humor about the ordeal.
“I’m laughing, it’s just even that notion [is funny],” Griffin said. “For some reason, I’m laughing at everything now. And if it’s horrible, I laugh way more!”
Since posting the update, the star has received a lot of good wishes and positive feedback.
“U got this kath !!! ❤️❤️❤️,” Rosie O’Donnell wrote. While Kris Jenner said, “We are praying for you love you!!!!!! ❤️🙏.”
Last week, Griffin announced that she has cancer and was having surgery to remove part of her lung.
Griffin revealed the news on social media, sharing that she would have “half of my left lung removed” despite having “never smoked.”
The Emmy Award winner said that her “doctors are very optimistic as it is stage one and contained to my left lung.”
The actress shared that she expects to be “up and running around as usual in a month or less” and is hopeful that she will not need chemotherapy or radiation. The surgery should not affect her breathing function, she said.
She also urged her followers to “please stay up to date on your medical check ups. It’ll save your life.”
