Famed journalist and “Today” host, Katie Couric, enjoyed her daughter Ellie’s wedding last weekend, and on Wednesday, she took to Instagram to display loads of beautiful images and heartfelt thoughts from the ceremony.
In one shot posted to her Instagram stories, Couric looked even more famously fresh-faced than usual, beaming out a huge smile over how amazing she looked in her pink gown, paired with gold platform shoes -- while standing in front of lovely summer-bloomed trees, the kind that flood every wedding photo she posted.
"MOB baby," Couric captioned the gown pic. "A huge thank you to @georginachapmanmarchesa and her wonderful team for making this dress for me. I [love] it!!!"
People noted that one funny caption placed onto the photo said, “And it has pockets!” Ever the relatable charmer, Couric went on to post a number of wonderful photos and videos, including a sweet pic of her kissing the gorgeous bride, and one featuring her strolling down the aisle with husband John Molner.
The proud mom added that Ellie walked down the aisle to composer Jay Unger's "Ashokan Farewell" from Ken Burns' Civil War documentary as a way to honor her late dad, Jay Monahan.
While the pics showed smiles all around, Couric claimed over the shot of her and Molner that “I was trying not to cry.” Then in another post admitted she did cry almost the whole time, and most of the guests did too.
Tears of joy, no doubt. It would seem hard to be sad around the Couric family.
Fans were swelling with love too.
“THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BRIDE,” said one.
Another said, “Just perfect!”
But Couric probably said it the best. "Here's to love, here's to joy, here's to the future.”
