'Game of Thrones' Star Kristofer Hivju Tests Positive for Coronavirus

"Game of Thrones" actor Kristofer Hivju has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The star took to Instagram with the news, announcing that he and his family are self-isolating.

"Greetings from Norway! Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Corona virus. My family and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health - I only have mild symptoms of a cold," Hivju writes.

He goes on to outline the specific measures he believes others should be taking in order to slow the spread of the virus like vigorous hand-washing, maintaining a distance from others, and going into "quarantine."

"Together we can fight this virus and avert a crisis at our hospitals. Please take care of each other, keep your distance, and stay healthy! Please visit your country's Center for Disease Control's website, and follow the regulations for staying safe and protecting not just yourselves, but our entire community, and especially those at risk like the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions," Hivju continued.

One of Hivju's costars, John Bradley, took to the comments section to express his support for the actor. "Ah mate. Sending my love to you all. Get well," the actor wrote.

Hivju is the latest of a few celebrities that have announced that they've tested positive for the coronavirus. His announcement comes on the heels of Idris Elba's positive diagnosis as well as Olga Kurylenko and Tom Hanks.
