But that doesn't mean his daughter won't troll her dad while he guest hosts the wildly popular quiz game show.
On Monday, Mica Burton, the 27-year-old daughter of the "Reading Rainbow" host, tweeted a video that showed her father on his first night as guest host, with a pan to him sitting on a chair in their living room while the episode aired.
“Bless [my dad] for putting up with me,” she captioned the post while sharing the funny clip. The video showed Mica pretending to be confused about how the 64-year-old star could be in two places at once.
“He’s there, but he’s there. But he’s on TV. But he’s there,” Mica said, roasting her pops as he tried to watch himself on screen. Burton instantly told his daughter to stop.
Mica also shared the footage on her TikTok, which has garnered over 144,000 likes. She captioned the post, “Messing with my dad while he’s on TV. The ‘will you stop?!’ is so dad of him.”
As LeVar is making his debut on the game show, fans don’t want it to end.
Fans who previously urged Burton to be the latest host are rallying for him and are confident that he may be the permanent quizmaster for the game show.
Burton taped five episodes in one day with only one day of rehearsal beforehand. His “Jeopardy!” shows started to air on Monday, July 26th.
In 2013, the star tweeted a petition that was started by fans for him to be the next host and in 2018 called “Jeopardy!” the only “game show I’ve ever wanted to host.”
Many fans are optimistic that Burton will take the podium on the game show. Some tweeted that they would make sure to watch the show every night this week to boost ratings on social media.
Recently, Burton spoke to The Associated Press about his experience working as a guest host on the famous game show.
“This was a real challenge,” the 64-year-old said.
