It’s been almost a year since Luke Perry’s death and Lili Reinhart continues to maintain a strong connection to her former castmate.
The “Riverdale” star shared an emotional dream she recently had about the late actor.
“I had a dream last night that I saw Luke... and I hugged him so hard and cried into his shoulder, telling him how much we all miss him,” Reinhart tweeted.
"Looking back on it this morning, I think his spirit was visiting me in my sleep, letting me know he's smiling brightly on the other side,” she concluded.
Perry tragically died from a massive stroke in March 2019 at the age of 52.
On "Riverdale," Perry portrayed Archie’s father Fred Andrews.
Following his death, the cast and crew of the CW series honored Perry in touching social media posts and sharing kind words during the first table read without him.
His character’s death was explained during the show’s season 4 premiere by revealing he had been struck and killed by a car after stopping to help a stranded motorist played by Perry’s good friend, and former “Beverly Hills, 90210” co-star, Shannen Doherty.
Perry’s final film role was in Quentin Tarantino’s Oscar-nominated movie “Once Upon a Time ...in Hollywood.” Fans were outraged when the actor was omitted from the Academy Awards In Memoriam section earlier this month.
Following the criticism, the Academy released a statement explaining what goes into the decision process.
“The Academy receives hundreds of requests to include loved ones and industry colleagues in the Oscars In Memoriam segment. An executive committee representing every branch considers the list and makes selections for the telecast based on limited available time,” read the statement. "All the submissions are included on Oscar.com and will remain on the site throughout the year."
