Suzanne Somers is on the mend.
The “Three’s Company” star, who previously suffered a fractured hip, revealed she had to have neck surgery after falling down a flight of stairs with husband Alan Hamel.
“As most of you know, I have been struggling for the better part of the year with a fractured hip, and then Alan and I took an unfortunate fall while coming down the stairs at our home,” the 73-year-old wrote in an Instagram post.
“I had an intense amount of pain after the fall that was not resolving – even after having tequila!”
While it’s unclear if Hamel was injured in the fall, Somers eventually had herself checked out by a doctor and got a proper diagnosis.
“After several scans, it was determined I had 2 vertebrae out of place which was causing pressure on nerves and creating that tremendous pain,” the actress added. “The good news is that I had neck surgery to correct these issues and now I am on the mend!”
Somers and Hemel had been hosting virtual happy hours on Facebook Live, but she told her fans they would be on hold temporarily as she recuperates.
“I need a bit more time to recover before I can join you again at the bar for our virtual cocktail parties,” she continued. “As always, I so appreciate your love and support. Be back soon!”
In January, Somers disclosed she had fractured her hip while promoting her latest book “A New Way To Age.”
“I had to stay in bed for six weeks, no moving — but my husband went to bed with me,” the “Step by Step” star previously told Page Six.
Somers and Hamel have been married since 1977.
