The season three finale took place Wednesday night where GRAMMY-winning songwriter Kandi Burrus was unmasked as the Night Angel and named the winner. Burrus became the first female winner of The Masked Singer beating out two other celebrities.

Coming in second place was the Turtle, who was revealed to be singer and actor Jesse McCartney. In third place was the frog, revealed as hip-hop star Bow Wow.

As the panel guessed who was behind the Night Angel mask, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg and Robin Thicke correctly said it was Burrus. Ken Jeong thought it was Tisha Campbell while Nicole Scherzinger thought it was Taraji P. Henson.

Burrus put her Real Housewives of Atlanta acting chops on full display as she used a fake British accent throughout the entire series. During the finale, Burrus sang the Tina Turner song “River Deep, Mountain High.”

Jesse McCartney performed the Lewis Capaldi song “Before You Go” on the finale. McCarthy-Wahlberg and Scherzinger both guessed his identity correctly while Thicke thought he was Adam Lambert. Ken Jeong guessed it was Nick Jonas.

“This has been a very, very long road,” McCartney told host Nick Cannon in his unmasked interview. “I knew there were so many talented competitors and honestly I’m just stunned that I’m even here. Hats off to Night Angel who crushed it. This is an experience I’ll never forget.

For his final performance, Bow Wow performed “Bad Boy For Life” by P. Diddy, Black Rob and Mark Curry. Bow Wow thoroughly enjoyed his experience on the show and hopes it’ll open the way for more rappers to appear.

“It’s a big step because hopefully you’ve got guys like myself and Lil Wayne who opened up that floodgate for rappers to feel comfortable, so that if they are ever approached to do 'The Masked Singer,' that now they’ll do it,” he told Variety.
Both Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger correctly guessed his identity, while Ken Jeong guessed Kid Cudi and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg thought he was Lil Romeo.
