‘The View’ Is Bringing Back Sara Haines as Co-Host for 24th Season

Sara Haines will once again be taking a little time to enjoy “The View.”

The 42-year-old will be returning to co-host the ABC daytime show for its upcoming 24th season, according to Variety.

Haines will be taking over the seat at the Hot Topics table vacated by Abby Huntsman, who left the show in January to work on her father John Huntsman’s gubernatorial campaign in Utah.

Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Meghan McCain and Sunny Hostin have continued to co-host the morning show, with political commentator Ana Navarro stepping in as a weekly guest co-host.

This will be Haines’ second turn on the long-running series as she previously served as co-host from 2016 to 2018.

Following her initial exit, Haines was tapped to co-host “GMA Day,” the third hour of “Good Morning America” with Michael Strahan.

In January 2019, the show was rebranded “Strahan & Sarah.”

Months later, “Hustlers” actress Keke Palmer stepped in while Haines went on maternity leave and upon her return the show was rebranded again as “Strahan, Sara & Keke.”

Last month, ABC canceled “SS&K” after it was preempted for ongoing coronavirus coverage since March.

Since premiering in 1997, “The View” has endured a series of high-profile cast changes.

Initially starring Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Star Jones, Meredith Vieira and Debbie Matenopoulos, over the years the show has called Rosie O’Donnell, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Raven-Symoné, Lisa Ling, Rosie Perez and Jenny McCarthy among its co-hosts.

The 24th season of “The View” is set to return on September 8th.
