Tom Selleck leaves $2,020 tip and note for servers as part of 2020 Tip Challenge

This one came just in time for the holidays.

Servers at a restaurant in New York City were the latest recipients of a generous tip as part of the 2020 Tip Challenge.

On Wednesday, Donnie Wahlberg let his fans know that his “Blue Bloods” costar Tom Selleck left a $2,020 tip on a $204.68 tab for workers at Elio’s, an Italian eatery in Manhattan.

"I found out that my TV Dad Tom Selleck has generously accepted the #2020TipChallenge at Elios Upper East Side! Love ya dad," Wahlberg captioned the photos, which showed Selleck’s bill and the note he left employees.

Selleck nodded to his TV son in the accompanying note that he left for the servers.

“For Elios, I am honoring my friend Donnie Wahlberg's ‘Tip Challenge’ with my sincere hope for a better 2020. Thank you all,” he wrote.

“I didn’t start it but I’m proud to be part of it. To those who gave even the smallest extra amount this year — THANK YOU,” Wahlberg concluded his tweet.

The New Kids on the Block member confirmed to People that although he just shared the tip, Selleck did the kind deed without telling him for months.

“Tom never mentioned it to me,” he told the outlet. “We've done three [Blue Bloods] dinner scenes since he did it and he never told me.”

Wahlberg joined in on the 2020 Tip Challenge on Jan. 2 when he and wife Jenny McCarthy left a $2,020 tip on a $75 bill after eating at IHOP.
