When you think of summer blockbusters, you don’t often think of fine art paintings. But then again you’re not Zach Braff.
On the success of his girlfriend Florence Pugh’s performance as Yelena Romanoff in the long-awaited Marvel movie “Black Widow,” the quirky indie hero commissioned famed comics artist/painter Phil Noto to do a portrait of Pugh as Yelena.
It’s not only a super sweet gesture, it’s a pretty awesome painting too!
So awesome that Braff thought the world should see it via Instagram. Underneath his post of the painting, he captions, "Go see 'Black Widow' this weekend and watch @florencepugh save the world!"
The image of Yelena features her standing strong in a white jumpsuit, green and black tactical vest, while clutching two guns. Braff further explains that the word next to the cool image is Russain for “Widow.”
Entertainment Weekly further noted that Braff’s pride over his gal’s performance provoked him to Insta-share a photo of the Yelena Funko Pop toy and a cartoon drawing of Pugh in action.
Pugh herself was so smitten with the painting, she shared it on her IG too. It’s got to feel even better than all the critical huzzahs she’s getting for her performance in “Black Widow.”
The long-delayed film finally hits theaters and Disney+ premier access on Friday.
Good timing, as the Black Widow herself, Scarlett Johansson, is reportedly now pregnant, so she can now sit back, relax, and watch her new movie go blockbuster supernova.
