Fender brings back free guitar lessons during pandemic

Now's the chance to trade in your air guitar for the real thing

Fender hopes the power of music can continue healing a fractured country during the COVID-19 pandemic. The guitar company says they’re extending their Play Through giveaway, continuing to offer three free months of free guitar, bass and ukulele lessons on the Fender Play app to all new players.

Users can watch guided video lessons and learn from the best when it comes to mastering the guitar, bass or ukulele.

The company implores followers to rise up and make some noise during this quarantine. “Six months in, the world is louder than ever — and music still has the power to connect us all,” they caption in an Instagram post.

“So until 2020 is over, our invitation is back, 3 months of free online guitar, bass and ukulele lessons. No cost. No catch. Just music. Let’s play on through to the other side. Play Loud. Play Free. Play On.”

A recent New York Times article suggests people across the country are gravitating to guitar lessons during stay-at-home orders. Fender Play’s user base certainly reflects that, growing nearly 500% in the past year.

Even if you’re a beginner who’s curious about strumming an axe, check out Fender’s website to download the Fender Play App and learn more.
