Shakira, Coldplay, and More Join The Rock for 'Global Goal: Unite for Our Future' Concert

Taking place this Saturday, June 27

An all-star group of musicians and celebrities are getting together to help in the fight against COVID-19.

Global Citizen and the European Commission will be airing a special called Global Goal: Unite for Our Future - The Concert on Saturday, June 27.

The two-part production features a summit, a discussion and interview session hosted by Katie Couric on how to attain equitable distribution of COVID-19 treatments across the world.

Following the summit, a concert will take place featuring performances from Shakira, Coldplay, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Justin Bieber and Quavo, Miley Cyrus, Chloe x Halle, J Balvin and many more. The event will be hosted by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Also scheduled to appear during the Global Goal concert are Chris Rock, Hugh Jackman, Kerry Washington, Salma Hayek, Ken Jeong and more.

The event will be available online with information on how to watch on Global Citizen’s website.

“Global Citizens around the world are calling on world leaders to help bring an end to COVID-19 by urging them to commit the billions of dollars needed to deliver testing, treatments and vaccines to everyone, everywhere,” Shakira said in a statement. “We need health equity and global justice, and we know that only by uniting to fight for the world we want can we build back toward a healthier future for all.”

Back in April, Global Citizen and the World Health Organization teamed up to present the One World: Together At Home concert special. Featuring the likes of Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, John Legend, Taylor Swift, Stevie Wonder and more, the special helped support frontline healthcare workers in the fight against COVID-19.
