Beyoncé is always going to show her love and support in the midst of tragedy. Over the weekend, Lyric ‘Yhung’ Chanel, who had been documenting her battle with brain cancer over the past two years, sadly passed away.

Lyric, like all of us, loved Beyoncé, and the feeling was definitely mutual. In a touching tribute, Bey paid her respects to her young fan through song— sharing a medley on “Brown Skin Girl,” “Halo,” and “Love on Top,” via YouTube, summing up her feelings by saying, “I love you with all of my heart.”
In September 2020, Bey even sent Lyric a bouquet of flowers with a note expressing how much the music legend was inspired by Lyric. “I was so moved to see how these lyrics [from “Love on Top”] inspired you, not nearly as much as you inspired me,” the note reads. “I can’t wait to meet you one day and I’m so happy you’re home safely. You are a survivor,” the note continued.
The gift came after Lyric’s fourth brain surgery, where doctors were able to successfully remove more of her tumor than previous attempts, but within months, the tumor came back— larger than before, according to Lyric's GoFundMe updates.
