Kanye West Delivers on New Track 'Wash Us In The Blood' With Travis Scott

Ye and La Flame link up

Yesterday Kanye West teased us with a song drop and lucky for us he followed through.

Featuring Travis Scott, “Wash Us In Blood” debuted about an hour ago and we’ve already listened to it about 62 times.

Part of Ye’s next album God’s Country, the track came with a visual from collaborator and cinematographer Arthur Jafa. The video opens with protest footage and also includes clips from West’s Saint Pablo Tour and Sunday Service rehearsals.

The visceral video captures the many issues the country is currently facing including the coronavirus pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement protests. Showing two individuals who appear to be struggling to breathe, receiving medical attention, the video also features Breonna Taylor, the 26-year-old Black emergency medical technician who was shot eight times by cops in Louisville in an attempted no-knock drug sting operation.

"Wash us in the blood/ Wash us in the blood/ Whole life being thugs/ No choice selling drugs/ South Side what it does," West raps. "Rain down on us/ Genocide what it does/ Slavery what it does/ Rain down on us."

The visual isn’t the only thing speaking to these issues, Travis hold nothing back going off in the second verse, “No choice, sellin' drugs/ Genocide, what it does/Mass incarc', what it does/‘Cause a cause, what it does/ ‘Nother life bein' lost/Let it off, set it off/Executes in thirty states/Thirty states still execute/ Thou shall not kill, I shall not spill, Nextels at the rendezvous/We dodgin' time in the federal/Squad box you in like it's sectional/We walked to the glass and the residue/Now look what we headed to.”

“Wash Us In The Blood” is West's first new music since he dropped his most recent album Jesus Is King in late October. Well, we’re here for it and can’t wait to see what he hits us with next.
