It looks like a fellow inmate has decided to go ahead and break R. Kelly off with a little preview of the remix to incarceration.
TMZ has learned that the rapper, currently in custody for the past year at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago facing sexual abuse charges, was sitting on his bed when another inmate walked in and began punching him.
The short fight may have been about the facility being put on lockdown due to protesters outside rallying against the drummed-out "Pied Piper of R&B."
Sources say the rapper did not sustain any serious injuries and a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, as well Kelly's attorney, Steven Greenberg, declined to discuss the incident.
Kelly, who denies all accusations and can likely post his own bail is still being held over a number of U.S. Criminal Code criteria for obtaining bail in the federal system, according to a report from Billboard.
