The Weeknd walked the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival looking like a whole new man.

The “Call Out My Name” singer arrived at the premiere for Uncut Gems flaunting a revamped image. The man also known as Abel Tesfaye is now sporting a little more hair on his head and a little less hair on his face than the last time we’ve seen him. Gone is his trademark beard – just a mustache remains - while he’s let the hair on top go a bit.

Several social media users jokingly suggested he should change his name to The Weekday to differentiate his new look. GQ quipped that he brought some Lionel Richie energy to the red carpet.

It was The Weeknd’s first public appearance since US Weekly reported he and Bella Hadid called it quits for the second time. The singer met the model in 2015 when she posed for the cover of his breakout album Beauty Behind the Madness.

The Weeknd stars in Uncut Gems along with Adam Sandler and Idina Menzel. TIFF describes the story as “a series of high-stakes bets that could lead to the windfall of a lifetime." High-stakes jeweler Howard Ratner (Sandler) "must perform a precarious high-wire act, balancing business, family, and encroaching adversaries on all sides, in his relentless pursuit of the ultimate win.”

Uncut Gems is set to be released in theaters nationwide on Christmas Day.
