Ringo Starr Will Be Celebrating His Birthday During a Virtual Star-Studded Charity Show

Ringo and Paul McCartney will reunite

The Beatles icon and music legend, Ringo Starr will be celebrating his 80th birthday on July 7. Instead of hosting an over-the-top gathering, the musician will host an over-the-top charity performance with an incredibly legendary line-up.

The virtual performance will support Black Lives Matter Global Network, The David Lynch Foundation, MusiCares, and WaterAid. On the day of the virtual event, Starr is asking fans to start a trending hashtag for “#PeaceandLove" on all social media platforms.

The live stream performance will take place on YouTube on July 7, at 5 PM PT/ 8 PM ET. At home performances will be interspersed with old performance footage from the greats such as Paul McCartneySheryl CrowGary Clark, Jr., Sheila EBen Harper, and more.

During an interview with Rolling Stone Ringo explains, "there’s no big get-together, there’s no brunch for 100. But we’re putting this show together – an hour of music and chat. It’s quite a big birthday.”

Along with moments and performances from iconic artists, Ringo will share a revamped version of his song “Give More Love”, which features new verses from Jackson BrowneJeff BridgesElvis CostelloWillie Nelson, and more.
