"Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’mma let you finish..." But it could be argued that Kanye West had one of the best albums of the whole year! One of the best albums of the whole year, Taylor!

The Album Of The Year category at this year's GRAMMYs ceremony will have a bit of an MMA event feel to it as two of music's biggest names ever, Taylor Swift and Kanye West, now known as just Ye, are both in the running for the top prize -- and we all remember the baggage that those two carry.

Out of all of this year's Album Of The Year nominees, which include Jon Batiste, Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, H.E.R., Lil Nas X, and Olivia Rodrigo -- it's the long-awaited face-off between Taylor Swift's evermore and Kanye West's Donda that has us buzzing with anticipation.

It's the first time each artist is up for the Album Of The Year trophy at the same time, and it will be interesting to see what happens if either of them win, or if someone else entirely will walk away as the victor.

Honestly, a hilarious reprise of Ye's famous 2009 VMAs outburst in favor of Beyoncé over Taylor would certainly be welcomed, whether by Taylor, Ye, or any of the other artists nominated. Please, please someone make that happen...

When you look at each record objectively, both artists certainly have a very good chance at taking home the Album Of The Year statue. West... er... Ye had drummed up massive excitement in the lead-up to the staggered release of his tribute to his late mother, Donda, holding huge listening parties with numerous special guests and surprises.

Swift, of course, took a totally different approach, deciding to shock the world with the surprise release of evermore, just weeks after her previous effort, folklore, landed a nomination for Album Of The Year at the 2021 GRAMMYs -- the award for which she took home, mind you.

That said, Ye's last AOTY nomination came in 2008 for his Graduation record, so it could be about time for a little love to be shown his way.

The 2022 GRAMMY Awards return to the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on Monday, January 31, and will broadcast live on CBS and stream live and on-demand on Paramount+ beginning at 8PM ET / 5PM PT.
