Hallmark Airing Christmas Movie Marathon to Combat Coronavirus Blues

It’s Christmas in March!

With self-distancing and self-quarantine considered the “new normal” during the coronavirus outbreak, Hallmark wants to help you unwind by bringing the magic of the holidays back into your homes.

The channel, known for romantic and holiday-themed films, will be airing a special Christmas movie marathon this weekend, according to Entertainment Tonight.

The marathon will be composed of 27 original films from their “Countdown to Christmas” lineup from recent years.

It will kick off on Friday, March 20 at 12 p.m. ET/PT with “Christmas Detour” starring “Fuller House” actress Candace Cameron Bure.

The marathon will come to an end on Sunday, March 22 at 6 p.m. ET/PT with “Christmas in Rome” starring “Mean Girls” star Lacey Chabert.

Hallmark’s decision comes as feel-good and hopeful movies are needed now more than ever following the recent events surrounding the coronavirus outbreak.

Other movies include “A Christmas Love Story” with Kristin Chenoweth and Scott Wolf, “Christmas at Graceland: Home for the Holidays” with “Entourage’s” Adrien Grenier, “Write Before Christmas” with Chad Michael Murray, and "Christmas at Dollywood” starring Dolly Parton.

Despite the weekend getting a Christmas makeover, Hallmark’s premiere of “In the Key of Love,” an original film starring Laura Osnes and Scott Michael Foster, will premiere as planned in the Saturday, March 21 9 p.m. ET/PT time slot.

Hallmark is also treating fans to a preview of their “Spring Fling” and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries lineup during the premiere.

Christmas seems to be the cure for the coronavirus blues as many people are even putting up Christmas lights so spread some color, light, and happiness.
