Well this went well.
The “Jupiter’s Legacy” star, 48, said he sent an email to the “Call Me By Your Name” actor after getting his role on the upcoming movie.
“I know Armie a little bit, and when I knew I was gonna get the part, I emailed him and said, “Listen, I know you are going through it right now, I don't like to get roles like this and I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and good luck, get through it,’” Duhamel told Man About Town.
And according to the actor, the response from Hammer was equally as jovial.
“He emailed me right back and said thank you so who knows, hopefully he gets through it,” Duhamel said.

Hammer quit “Shotgun Wedding” in January following controversy surrounding his alleged sexual fantasies.
The 34-year-old star addressed the scandal in a statement about his decision to exit the production.
“I’m not responding to these bull**** claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that,” Hammer said in his statement.
In February, Lionsgate announced that Duhamel would officially replace Hammer after weeks of speculation.
"We couldn’t be happier for our bride and groom of this 'Shotgun Wedding,'" Erin Westerman, the president of production for the Lionsgate Motion Pictures Group, said in a statement.
“We know Josh and Jennifer will make a compelling and sexy on-screen couple and they will be fun sparring partners as their dream destination wedding erupts into a memorable nightmare."
The movie is slated for release on June 29, 2022.
