Tara Reid might soon be saying, “Hey, all you cool cats and kittens!”
While the world’s obsession with “Tiger King” is slowly starting to fade, Hollywood is making sure no one forgets about the crew from the hit Netflix docuseries. And it seems like every actor is vying for a role in one of the several Hollywood productions.
The long list now includes the “American Pie” alum, who is reportedly in talks to star as Carole Baskin in a live-action remake.
Reid’s manager and business partner, Philippe Ashfield, made the reveal to The Post stating, “We are in talks with the producers and she is being considered, that is all I can say at the moment as casting is on hold.”
Ashfield explained that Reid is a fan of the documentary. “Tara loves ‘Tiger King’ and found the documentary extremely interesting. She feels she could get into the character of Carole Baskin very well … and she has a similar look to [Baskin]."
Reid already has aspects of Baskin’s appearance going for her as they both share blonde hair and big blue eyes.
However, the 44-year-old is 14 years younger than the 58-year-old animal rights activist and CEO of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida.
In the Netflix documentary, Baskin had a feud with the eccentric, combative former Oklahoma zookeeper Joseph Maldonado-Passage aka “Joe Exotic.”
Aside from exotic wildlife, murder was at the center of the documentary -- Baskin was accused of killing her former husband, while Exotic was arrested for a murder-for-hire plot against her.
Also channeling her inner-Baskin is "Saturday Night Live" star Kate McKinnon, who is set to play her in an adaptation of the Wondery podcast "Joe Exotic"
A number of celebrities have publicly campaigned for the role of the zookeeper including Kevin Bacon, who said he would play Exotic “in a second.”
Fans suggested David Spade for the role, but despite his love for the series, he revealed he’s not interested in starring as Exotic.
It is unclear if Reid is in talks for the same project as Cage, or a different one.
