Madea made her last appearance in the 2019 Lionsgate feature “A Madea Family Funeral," which Perry reportedly said would be Madea’s final film, the outlet reports. However the film made $75 million at the global box office, and clearly her work is not done.
Perry first began working with the streaming service after last year’s release of “A Fall From Grace” which was watched by 39 million households in its first month. Perry is also writing, directing, and producing “A Jazzman’s Blues” for Netflix staring Joshua Boone and Solea Pfeiffer.
“A Madea Homecoming” has not yet been given a specific 2022 release date.
