Now for something positive in 2020.
Adele has been tapped to host Saturday Night Live for the first time in her storied career and couldn’t help but share her excitement about it to the world.
“Bloooooody hellllll I’m so excited about this!! And also absolutely terrified! My first ever hosting gig and for SNL of all things!!!!” The singer wrote in a lengthy Instagram post.
The “Hello” singer will be hosting SNL on October 24 and will be joined by H.E.R. as the musical guest for the evening. While it may come as a surprise to some, Adele had a good reason for not wanting to perform music that evening.
“I’ve always wanted to do it as a stand alone moment, so that I could roll up my sleeves and fully throw myself into it, but the time has never been right. But if there was ever a time for any of us to jump head first into the deep end with our eyes closed and hope for the best it’s 2020 right?” She said.
Adele credited her appearance on the show in 2008 with helping her career get off the ground in America. “It'll be almost 12 years to the day that I first appeared on the show, during an election... which went on to break my career in America,” she said.
The singer said being named the host of the show “feels full circle” and was something she “couldn’t possibly say no” to.
Adele reveled in excitement over H.E.R. joining her as the musical guest for the evening telling fans she “loves her SO much” and promises she will “melt into a flaming hot mess when she performs.”
H.E.R. also took to social media to rave about the news adding "Can’t wait!!!!! @nbcsnl."
