Adele is ready to return to her GRAMMY-winning ways, with a new album set to arrive in September. This news comes straight from the “Someone Like You” singer, who dropped the major detail while performing at the wedding of Laura Dockrill this weekend.
“Expect my album in September,” she said from the stage before launching into a live version of “Rolling in the Deep.” Adele was not only one of the entertainers at the event, but also the officiant according to sources.
We’ve had hints of new music on the way for months, and Adele continues to attend parties with famous friends like Drake’s birthday or Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s Oscars party. All the while she’s been causing a stir of headlines over her dramatic weight loss, reportedly losing up to 100 pounds.
What might Adele call an album released in September of 2020? The singer turns 32 on May 5. In 2008 she made her debut at the age of 19 with 19, and in 2011 she released 21 at the age of 22. Her latest release, 25, arrived in November of 2015. Adele was 27 at the time. These numbers have become iconic and of course correspond to the age in which she started writing rather than releasing.
Still, it make you wonder where we’ll land for album number four.
“This is 31...thank f***ing god,” Adele posted at the time of her birthday last May. “30 tried me so hard but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean in to it all. No matter how long we’re here for life is constant and complicated at times. I’ve changed drastically in the last couple years and I’m still changing and that’s okay.”
She went on to joke that her next album would be called “30” and would be “a drum n bass record to spite you.”
