Blackpink teaser trailer for 'The Album' brings all the intrigue

The group also teases a new single and album release event!

BLACKPINK threw fans into an anticipatory frenzy, releasing a new teaser trailer for their upcoming album, The Album. But they didn’t stop there.

The girls also announced a ‘COMEBACK LIVE’ event in celebration of the debut album October 1 at 9 PM ET on VLIVE.

Pure excitement fills the trailer, as mosaic of green dots hang on screen and the bustle of traffic whines in the distance. Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo and Lisa appear on screen bathed in flashing flights and designer apparel, walking down a dark street. Listeners can make out a distant track playing with heavy echo and excitement.

BLACKPINK followed that news with a teaser poster previewing "Lovesick Girls" as a "title" track from their upcoming studio album, set to drop October 2, and released a poster for a new single “Lovesick Girls.”

RADIO.COM recently checked in with the K-Pop superstars and Selena Gomez, who collaborated with the group on the single “Ice Cream.”

“It was so much fun to step into a whole other world” when working on the track Selena told RADIO.COM's Julia. “The girls are so great and I’m so happy to be a part of the journey of this kind of music, and also for them to come in America and just, you know, f*** s*** up.”

Band members also revealed how the collaboration came together. Jennie said they wanted “to bring something new” to the track with a feature. Unanimously they all thought of Selena and after reaching out, as we all know now, their ice cream dreams churned into reality.
