On Wednesday, June 23, Britney Spears shared explosive testimony during the ongoing court hearing centered around her 13-year long, Jamie Spears-led, conservatorship.

Britney told the court that the conservatorship is “abusive,” and made it clear to the public that she wishes to put an end to the restrictive control of her estate and personal life.

Appearing on Zoom, Spears said, “The people who did this to me should not be able to get away and walk away easily.”

Additionally, Britney spoke about the effects of the conservatorship on her mental and physical health, stating, “I've told the world I'm happy and OK.” But she explained that in reality, “I'm traumatized. I'm not happy, I can't sleep.”

She also spoke about being forced to take on a method of birth control and explained to the court that she has not been allowed to remove her IUD. She says the IUD was implanted against her will, in order to prevent her from having more kids. She has also not been allowed to get married under the current terms of her conservatorship.

On June 24, Spears took to Instagram to share her first public comments since her testimony.

The singer shared a quote from Albert Einstein, that says, “If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”

In the post’s caption, Britney begins by saying, “I just want to tell you guys a little secret… I believe as people we all want the fairy tale life and by the way, I’ve posted … my life seems to look and be pretty amazing … I think that’s what we all strive for !!!!”

She continues, “I’m bringing this to peoples attention because I don’t want people to think my life is perfect because IT’S DEFINITELY NOT AT ALL … and if you have read anything about me in the news this week… you obviously really know now it’s not !!!!”

The globally renowned superstar then goes on to apologize to the millions of people following her account, writing, “ I apologize for pretending like I’ve been ok the past two years… I did it because of my pride and I was embarrassed to share what happened to me … but honestly who doesn’t want to capture there Instagram in a fun light !!!!”
