After months of teasing, we finally know when Dua Lipa will debut her sophomore album, Future Nostalgia. The second effort from the GRAMMY-winning singer will feature her hit “Don’t Start Now,” and will arrive on April 3. On Wednesday, Dua dropped the details and the cover art from the album.
“Some of the songs on the record are a bit like dance crying, where you’re dancing but it has a sadder, deeper meaning underneath,” Lipa told RADIO.COM last year as she released her first single. “I think for the most of it I just want people to have a really good time, and that was the reason why I chose to start with ‘Don’t Start Now.’”
Dua Lipa will release another preview of Future Nostalgia on Thursday January 30, dropping “Physical.” She’s called the track which drops at 6PM ET / 3PM PT, high energy with some 80’s inspiration. As for the rest of the LP, will we get more collaborations this time around?
“There may be some collabs on the record but nothing that I’m ready to reveal just yet,” she told us. “I think I like to keep things a surprise for as long as I can.”
Sunday night Dua Lipa returned to the GRAMMY Awards as the reigning Best New Artist, presenting this year’s honor to Billie Eilish. It was a trip to the strip club though that got her the most attention, as an after party visit with Lizzo found her trending this week with the hashtag #dualipaisoverparty. What started as people questioning her actions, soon became fans defending the “New Rules” star for supporting women.
