Halsey Celebrates 25th Birthday with New Song and Video Featuring Her Brother

The pair show off some dazzling choreography in the aquarium

Halsey turned 25 on Sunday, and she celebrated by doing what she does best – by dropping an emotional and intimate new song.

“Exactly 25 years ago to this moment I was born,” she wrote on Twitter Sunday morning. “I wanted to celebrate today by sharing a new song called ‘clementine’ and a cute lil video for it that I made with my brother Sevian. Enjoy.”

The plucky ballad shows Halsey painting an emotionally complex picture, while the video finds her and her younger brother whirling around an empty aquarium, miming through motions with deliberate dance. It’s a sweet family moment as Halsey reflects on spotlight life and the fluctuations of feelings.

“Clementine” is possibly the third preview of Halsey’s recently announced third album, Manic. The LP will arrive on January 17, and is her first since 2017. The singer has already revealed the powerful single, “Nightmare,” and the unflinchingly honest, “Graveyard.”

“There’s a lot of different types of songs on this album so far,” Halsey told RADIO.COM earlier this year. “I’m kind of exploring some genres that I’ve never really participated in before. I’m going back to old genres that were really indicative of me at the beginning of my career. But ultimately, everything just seems so conversational. Almost like I'm just sitting here talking to you about what's been on my mind.”
