Lil Nas X Dances With Robots, Explores the Future in 'Panini'

The “Old Town Road” star is inescapable in his new video

Disney star Skai Jackson is just trying to get away, but Lil Nas X keeps popping up in the new video for “Panini.”

The clip from the “Old Town Road” star skips into a futuristic world, where Lil Nas X is the face of every advertiser and his song is completely inescapable. In reality, he’s half-way there, after a ubiquitous streak as the longest-running number one song in Billboard history put him in every timeline and propelled him from college dropout to international phenomenon.

Jackson from the Disney Channel series’ Jessie and Bunk'd, works to avoid Lil Nas X, but even jetpacking out of a plane doesn’t get it done. X owns the future, dancing with a team of robots when he’s not projected into your Uber or selling you headphones. The video is directed by Mike Diva.

Earlier this week, Lil Nas X created conversation after appearing on an episode of The Shop: Uninterrupted, discussing his timing for coming out and the perception. “It’s just knowing that growing up, I’m growing up to hate this s***,” he explained to the other guests. “Homosexuality. Gay people,” X added for the confused group, including Kevin Hart. “Come on now. If you really from the hood you know.”

“If for me, the cool dude with the song on top of everything to say this, any other time I’m doing this for attention in my eyes, but if you doing this while you’re at the top you know it’s for real. It’s showing, it doesn’t really matter I guess.”

Lil Nas X revealed that he was gay on the last day of June, at the conclusion of Pride Month.

"Panini" is the second single from Lil Nas X's 7 EP, released in June.
