In her new era, Lizzo is redefining what it means to be “a woman in power,” without being confined by “picture-perfect” standards.

The flute-wielding songstress joined Audacy’s Rosa during Rosa’s Risky Rotation on KS 107.5 and spoke about changing the narrative about possessing power with her single “Rumors,” plus Lizzo discussed working with Cardi B and new collabs on the horizon.

Lizzo half-jokes when she says, “I have an agenda, and I’m the standard, the body standard.” Noting that her biggest creative challenge was to be unapologetically true to herself, she shares, “it’s hard to be somebody else. It’s hard to like fake it. As much as it’s normalized, I couldn’t really get away with it. And I also saw how much people responded to me when I was authentically me.”

“At this point, I don’t really give a f**k,” the “Truth Hurts” singer insists.

During Lizzo shows, the singer attracts audiences varied in diversity. She says, “I always knew that music would have to be universal because I wanted to help the world. So, the fact that I have a microcosm of the world at my shows is super validating….I’m bringing people together and that’s what I was born to do.”

Touching on what is to come in terms of new music, Lizzo shares that she and SZA have already been mingling in the studio together.
She says, “we’ve like worked and jammed out, and me and Kehlani have too actually. Will the world hear it? I don’t know, but we’re all so good what we do.”
