Madonna is currently in the process of recovering from knee surgery and took to Instagram to give fans an update on how she’s doing.
The Queen of Pop left little to the imagination as she posted a topless selfie with the caption “everyone has a crutch.”
Madonna went under the knife recently for a regenerative cartilage treatment. The injury, along with sickness and ailments forced a series of cancellations on her Madame X tour. The 61-year-old was excited about getting on the road to recovery saying, "I would be jumping up and down if i could after 8 months of being in pain.”
Much like her cheeky send off before the surgery, Madonna gave fans an intimate look in her latest Instagram post as she leaned up against her crutch.
Overall, Madonna had to cancel nearly 20 Madame X shows with all but a few being due to injury. Her last two stops on March 10 and March 11 were canceled due to the French government issuing COVID-19 restrictions. Two concerts in the fall of 2019 were cancelled due to production issues.
Madonna revealed back in May that she had tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies. When she received the news, the singer said she didn’t feel sick, but speculated she likely contracted the virus during the end of her tour in Paris in March.
“At the time we all thought we had a very bad flu,” she said. “Thank God we are all healthy and well now. Hope that clears things up for the band wagon jumpers!! Knowledge is Power!”
Since then, Madonna pledged $1.1 million to go towards finding a COVID-19 vaccine.
