Mariah Carey Shocks Cast of 'Schitt's Creek' During Zoom Reunion

It was a most welcome zoom-bomb

Zoom-bombing has become the predicament of many during quarantine with uninvited guests dropping in on private video conferencing calls. This is one of those rare instances of a zoom-bomb gone right.

The cast of Schitt’s Creek got together for the Dear Class of 2020 virtual celebration to pay tribute to this year’s graduates. They joined a long list of celebrities, athletes, and musicians in the event headlined by former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Johnny (Eugene Levy), Moira (Catherine O’Hara), David (Dan Levy), and Alexis (Annie Murphy) all began the call and were tasked with paying tribute to all the teachers who taught the graduating class. “We just wanted to express from the bottom of our hearts just how necessary you all are in shaping young minds,” Johnny said.

They were joined by a slew of their fellow castmates and opted to toast teachers with a song. Patrick (Noah Reid) began to sing Mariah Carey’s song “Hero” while the rest of the cast joined in for an a cappella version of the ballad.

Carey dropped in during the middle of the song, leaving several of the cast members shocked.

“Moira, darling, I hope you didn’t mind that I jumped in like that. You all just sounded so good,” Carey said.

Carey then saluted the educators of the class of 2020 telling them “You rose to the occasion and you helped these students reach the finish line.”
