Mariah Carey started stocking up on Christmas decorations in March, because 2020

It's never too early for all things holly and jolly... especially this year

This year the Queen of Christmas had to start prepping extra early for the most wonderful time of the year, due to the nature of the pandemic.

During an interview on Australia’s Channel 7 Sunrise, Mariah Carey revealed that she began stocking up on Christmas decor in March because of all the COVID-19 panic buying, and she knew she could not be left without Christmas decorations.

Mimi explains, “I was in the New York apartment for the first four-to-five months of Covid with the kids and our little pod.” Then she adds, “All of a sudden I sat there and said ‘wait a minute - I better get Christmas decorations because what if people get all the decorations?’ of course, I was thinking about that in March.”

Typically, Mariah and her 9-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, partake in all the holiday festivities. From Santa meet and greets to sledding, they do it all, but this year like most families, the pandemic has drastically limited the family’s holiday activities. Mariah tells us, “I have no need to go anywhere, safety is more important.”

However, nothing will stop Mimi from giving us an extraordinary Christmas special to keep our spirits somewhat bright this year. The singer says that the show was “so much fun to do” and “such a labor of love.”
