The far from shy entertainer extraordinaire shared the sizzling snap on her Instagram story with her surely thankful over 134 million Instagram followers. Never lacking in the .gif department when it comes to her stories, MC added a handful of Pride-centric animated images. Additionally tagging Happy Hippie Foundation, the charitable organization she founded in 2014 intended to provide aid to LGBTQ youths in need of financial assistance.
Following the first post with a selfie vid, this time the .gif-happy singer included on of Patrick Starfish making out with an ice cream cone, one that read “The Gays” and another that read “I’m Garbage.” Literally glowing in the video, Miley hilariously credited that to her phone not a filter. Joking, “No, it’s not a filter, my phone’s just dirty.”
Miley, who identifies as pansexual has long been an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. Telling Vogue in 2018, “I’m an openly gender fluid person and I have always been honest about my sexuality. It’s been important to me not only to show pride for who I am, but to encourage my fans to always be true to who they are.”
Being in the public eye, Miley has been in a few notable relationships, with both men and women. Of course the most notable being her decade long relationship with Liam Hemsworth. After her marriage to Liam ended, Miley moved on (rather quickly we might add) to date Kaitlynn Carter, which was both spontaneous and short lived. And while Miley openly speaks about her fluid romances, the only other female she’s been publicly seen with is model, Stella Maxwell.
Speaking to Vanity Fair in March 2019, Miley had the following to say — “A big part of my pride and my identity is being a queer person. What I preach is: People fall in love with people, not gender, not looks, not whatever,” she also said. “What I’m in love with exists on almost a spiritual level. It has nothing to do with sexuality. Relationships and partnerships in a new generation — I don’t think they have so much to do with sexuality or gender. Sex is actually a small part, and gender is a very small, almost irrelevant part of relationships.”
Whatever the case may be, and whoever Miley chooses to love, we’re here for it - as much as we’re here for that rainbow bikini.
