Remembering Avicii: Fans, Industry Honor The Musician Two Years After His Passing

Fans are sharing their memories online

You may have missed it, but just last week late Swedish musician Avicii was awarded Best Album for his posthumous release, TIM, at the 2020 IDMAs. The festivities, as with most things these days, were hosted virtually amid the current pandemic after this year's Winter Music Conference was officially canceled.

The album's name is a take on the DJ's actual name, Tim Bergling, and was assembled for release in 2019 with the help of some of his closest friends and collaborators. This award certainly shows his legacy lives on and his music will continue to make people happy for years to come.

Today, April 20th, marks the two year anniversary of the passing of Bergling at the age of 28, and fans are sharing their memories online.

Fellow DJ/Producer David Guetta also paused for a look back, sharing his touching tribute to his friend at Amsterdam's 2019 AMF Festival.

Last year, the Tim Bergling Foundation - founded by Tim “Avicii” Bergling's family after his passing - put on a massive tribute concert featuring his songs performed by the likes of Adam Lambert, Aloe Blacc, Gavin DeGraw, and many more.
