Everyone remain calm, but we have some VERY IMPORTANT news for those desperately wondering when Rihanna will release new music (so…everyone).
IT 👏 IS 👏 COMING👏.
Yes, ahead of the taping for her upcoming Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 3, Rihanna spilled some deets to The Associated Press about how she’s been taking her time to “experiment.” And suggesting her new music will sound much different than her previous projects.
“You’re not going to expect what you hear. Just put that in your mind,” she said. “Whatever you know of Rihanna is not going to be what you hear. I’m really experimenting. Music is like fashion. You should be able to play. I should be able to wear whatever I want. I treat music the same way. So I’m having fun and it’s going to be completely different.”
Umm sorry, we just blacked out for a minute from excitement. Okay, and we’re back.
Also speaking to The AP back in October 2020, Rihanna told the publication that she was working on music and holding “ tons of writing camps.” And additionally shared that she asks herself questions like “What do I feel personally? What do I want to put out, and as an artist, how do I want to play it with my art? How do I want to interpret that? How do I want to reimagine it because it’s been so structured before.”
OMG, so deep — we love that for her (and us).
It’s hard to even say these words but, it’s been five years since RiRi released her critically acclaimed eighth album ANTI, which features hits such as “Work,” “Love on the Brain” and “Needed.” And pretty much not one second has gone by since without the internet demanding a follow up. Okay, so like, let's have it already.
While Rihanna hasn’t announced a release date yet, we are gonna take this new offering as an indication that it's coming sooner rather than later.
Ugh, literally cannot wait! Also, reminder to stream Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 3 Friday September 24 on Amazon Prime!
