Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe Debuts Japanese Face Tattoo

Perhaps his time with Post Malone is rubbing off on him

Normally the news of Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee getting a tattoo wouldn’t make headlines. His fondness for ink has been well-documented with much of his body covered with various tattoos.

His latest tattoo is one you won’t be able to miss as he got not one, but two tattoos on his face.

The drummer showed off his new ink in an Instagram slideshow with the left side of his face getting an addition of a set of dots around his eyebrow getting increasingly larger in size. He added to his pre-existing star tattoo with smaller, blacked-out stars. Next to it, he got two musical symbols forming the shape of a heart.

On his right cheek, Lee sported a descending set of Japanese characters.

Perhaps his time with Post Malone and Tyla Yaweh rubbed off on him as Lee was the namesake for Yaweh’s recent track “Tommy Lee.”

Although he wasn’t featured on the song, Lee reportedly said he’s working on a remix of it and described it as “Nirvana meets Green Day meets The Beatles.”

Mötley Crüe’s reunion was one of the most anticipated tours of the year. Like many other concert tours, their reunion was pushed back until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Their tour alongside Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett will now begin in June 2021 and go all the way until September 2021.

The group infamously signed a “cessation of touring” agreement which prohibited them from ever taking the stage together again. In true Crüe fashion, the agreement was blown up with explosives during the announcement of their reunion.
