‘DWTS’ pro Cheryl Burke suffers head injury during rehearsal

The latest “Dancing With the Stars” episode showed professional dancer Cheryl Burke getting hurt during a scary fall.

Burke fell and hit her head on the floor while rehearsing the night before the live show with her celebrity partner AJ McLean.

In a clip from Monday’s episode of “Dancing With the Stars,” the dancer stumbled during rehearsal. In an instant, you can see Burke slam her head against the ballroom floor.

“Cheryl and I were practicing during stage rehearsal, and it did not go well,” her partner, Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean, said in the video. "It happened so fast, I just heard her head hit the floor.”

When McLean figures out how serious the incident is, he crawls over to Burke, asking, “Are you okay?”

People reported that a medic was called and examined Burke on the scene. While Burke was being looked at, the physician said she needed to take the rest of the day off.

Burke shared the frightening incident to her personal Instagram page.

She captioned the post, “Yesterday, I took a hard fall while rehearsing for #VillainsNight,” she wrote in the caption. “Even though AJ kills me at the end of this Tango, this wasn’t part of the routine. It’s one of those things that can happen in a split second. Thankfully, I have the best partner I could ask for that was there to pick me up off the ground.”

On Monday night’s episode, she was thankfully feeling well enough to compete. The couple performed a tango and scored a 26 out of 30.
