Is Meghan Markle heading back to the small screen?
Rumors began swirling yesterday, January 31, that the 38-year-old lined up her first television gig since announcing her leave as a senior member of the royal family last month.
Page Six reported that Markle is set to appear in the upcoming Canadian reality show “I Do, Redo” alongside wedding stylist Jessica Mulroney, who also just happens to be her best friend.
However, don't get too excited just yet.
Canadian TV network, which is partnering with Netflix for the show, is shooting down Page Six’s claims that Markle will appear on the upcoming reality series.
The Netflix series will deal with couples planning to take their second walk down the aisle. The publication initially claimed Markle would be making “sporadic” guest spots throughout the show’s 10-episode season.
Despite claims denying the gig, Markle would be perfect for the gig. Aside from having experience throwing one of the most exquisite weddings in the world with husband Prince Harry, Markle’s participation is especially on target as the royal nuptials were actually her second time saying “I do.” Prior to finding her Prince, Markle was briefly married to actor Trever Engleson.
The rumors comes as reports claim the former actress is “actively looking” for a new manager to handle her return to Hollywood, according to Us Weekly.
Although she starred on the USA series “Suits” for six years, Markle famously retired from her acting career prior to marrying into the royal family.
On the heels of her Megxit from her royal duties, it was recently announced that she had signed a voiceover with Disney in exchange for a sizeable donation to the Elephants Without Borders charity organization.
In January, Markle and Prince Harry shocked the world when they announced their intention to step down as full-time members of the royal family.
“We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty the Queen,” the pair said in a statement.
Netflix has yet to announce a premiere date for “I Do, Redo.”
