‘Wheel of Fortune’ Host Pat Sajak Says ‘Worst Has Passed’ After Emergency Surgery

Pat Sajak’s recovery from emergency surgery is going very well.

The “Wheel of Fortune” host gave fans a health update just days after going under the knife to correct a blocked intestine.

"I’m so grateful for all the good wishes during my recent illness," the 73-year-old wrote on Twitter. "Happy to say that the worst has passed and I’ll be out of the hospital in a day [or] two.”

Sajak’s sudden medical situation forced the long-running game show to cancel last Thursday’s episode and has since seen Vanna White take over the hosting duties.

But now that he’s on the mend, Sajak is eager to return to his gig permanently.

He added, “Then back to work (unless @TheVannaWhite has completely taken over!)”

White responded to Sajak’s joke in her own heartfelt message that reiterated how irreplaceable he is.

“Wheel of Fortune without @patsajak is like a word without vowels,” White tweeted on Monday. “I’ll fill in the blanks until you return. Rest up and we’ll be solving puzzles in no time.”

And in keeping with the duo’s playful banter, she added, “Don’t worry, your job is safe! Well, pretty safe.”

Since the show tapes in advance, White’s episodes as host won’t start airing until December 9th.

The show’s official Twitter account gave a sneak peek of one of the 62-year-old’s upcoming episodes alongside Disney characters.

“Vanna steps in as host and Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto join in the fun!,” the show captioned two pics showcasing the set decked out for the holidays.

Sajak has been hosting the iconic game show since 1982 and earlier this year, made history by being awarded the Guinness World Record for the "Longest Career as a Game Show Host of the Same Show."

“Wheel of Fortune” taped its 7000th episode in May.
