The D'Amelio family is coming to Hulu!
Viral TikTok star Charli D'Amelio is set to star in a new docuseries titled "The D'Amelio Show" alongside her sister (and fellow TikTok celebrity), Dixie, and her parents, Marc and Heidi.
The sisters have garnered nearly two hundred million total followers from their combined social media presence.
“Two years ago Charli and Dixie D’Amelio were virtually unknown outside of their town,” said Belisa Balaban, VP of documentaries at Hulu, adding that now, they have millions of fans who “tune in daily for their every move.”
“Every teen on social media dreams of becoming famous, but what happens when the reality hits?” said continued.
Variety notes that the eight-episode docuseries will follow the “first family of TikTok” as it tracks their “sudden rise to fame, all the while still staying true to their family values.”
The show will premiere in 2021.
“‘The D’Amelio Show’ joins our growing slate of docuseries about the human experience and we’re incredibly excited to partner with the D’Amelio family to offer viewers an authentic look at the complicated lives of these two relatable young women thrust to the top of the social media algorithm," the release notes.
The show will also focus on Dixie’s up-and-coming music career.
The parents will also be featured as they champion their daughters to follow their dreams and protect them from “the dark side of fame.”
“We are excited to be joining the Hulu family with a unique behind the scenes look into our life,” Marc said.
He continued: “We’ve always been a very close family, but this experience has brought us even closer and we’re really excited to share a glimpse of our lives with the world. Many people create impressions of us based off of short content, a few minutes or even seconds. But now, we’re looking forward to sharing a side that you likely don’t get to see on our social channels.”
Earlier this year, the sisters teamed up with Ramble and Cadence13 to launch "Charli and Dixie: TWO CHIX," a new weekly podcast that dissects the latest social media trends, talks about the things they love most, and whatever else is on their minds.
Charli even collaborated with Dunkin’ on the trendiest coffee menu item – her own signature drink!
The TikTok family isn't the only one to ink a deal with Hulu. As the streamer embraces a slew of unscripted programming for the upcoming year, it also announced a multi-year content deal with the first family of reality TV, the Kardashian-Jenners.
