Some of our favorite Philadelphians are coming together to help those on the frontline during the COVID-19 crisis. The Middleton Family is presenting a special one-time variety show this Thursday May 21 at 7PM ET, raising money for Philadelphia’s PHL COVID-19 Fund, which has been providing help to nonprofits aiding in relief during this uncertain time.
PHLove will feature Questlove of The Roots, Daryl Hall, Patti LaBelle, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and a collection of celebrities and artists from the City of Brotherly Love, lending their talents to this important cause.
You can watch this special event right here on this site, on the RADIO.COM app, or listen on your favorite Philadelphia RADIO.COM station. Check out the show on 96.5 TDY, 98.1 WOGL, B101.1, and KYW Newsradio 1060.
Amos Lee, DJ Diamond Kuts, Jeffery Gaines and more will also perform during the benefit.
PHLove will shine a spotlight on the PHL COVID-19 Fund, which has raised $16 million dollars and aided nearly 400 regional nonprofits since being created on March 19. However, more funds are vital to support those essential services that have helped us through this crisis.
“Despite the Fund’s success to date, the needs of the most vulnerable among us continue to persist,” says President & CEO of the Philadelphia Foundation, Pedro Ramos. “Additional funding will support the urgent and pressing needs of the community.”
John S. Middleton, managing partner of the Philadelphia Phillies has stressed how important it is to reach out to those that need our support right now. “These past two months have been a distressing time for all of us – particularly those who are most in need and lacking food, shelter and hope,” he shared in a statement. “We all know there are people who can use a hand up right now.”
It’s PHLove, a benefit for the PHL COVID-19 Fund, happening right here on Thursday May 21. For more details and to donate, visit phlcovid19fund.org.
