According to reports by Summa Inferno, Lindemann was questioned at his hotel room over his planned appearance at the canceled Maclarin For Homeland festival 100 miles outside of Moscow on August 29. The country has instated a ban on large-scale gatherings due to the spread of COVID-19.

Lindeman's agent, Anar Reiband, has also reportedly been held under the accusation that he lied about entering the country on a tourist visa with authorities holding the belief that he is an organizer of the festival and could face deportation and a permanent ban from the country if found guilty.

So far there has been no official statement from Lindemann or the band regarding the arrests.

Two weeks prior, Lindemann found himself in hot water with the Hermitage museum in Saint Petersburg over what they claim was an unauthorized sale of NFTs featuring himself in photos and on film shot on its premises.

While Rammstein had planned on loading up their convoy for the group's first-ever full production stadium tour of North America in 2020, the pandemic obviously had other plans. A new run of now 12 open-air dates, originally scheduled to promote their 2019 untitled record, have been set for the fall of 2022 kicking off on August 21 in Montreal, and ending in October in Mexico City with stops throughout the U.S. in between.
