It was an exciting and long night for Swifties as they stayed up late to meet Taylor Swift’s highly-anticipated 10th studio album, Midnights.

Taylor made the late-night well-worth fan’s while by not only delivering what many are calling her most vulnerable album yet but also surprising them with a special 3am version of the project. The 3am version features 7 bonus tracks in addition to the album’s originally announced 13, inspired by Taylor’s sleepless nights.

“Surprise!” she shared on social media in the early morning hours. “I think of Midnights as a complete concept album, with those 13 songs forming a full picture of the intensities of that mystifying, mad hour. However! There were other songs we wrote on our journey to find that magic 13.”

With 20 songs total, and only a couple being available before the release, Swifties had plenty of new music to review and critique as they soaked in the project that has potential to put Tay in a 3-way-tie alongside Drake and Barbra Streisand, for the third-most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart since it originated in 1956.

“These stories won't surprise anyone, but their form may catch appreciators of Swift's conversational singing style off-guard,” an NPR article notes. “She's still sing-talking, doing that expert, subtle interpolations of hip-hop's cadences and country crooners' relaxed timbre. But often, she and Antonoff twist and push her gleaming vocals in new directions.”

Opinions surrounding the project aren’t hard to come by as fans and music critics  familiarize themselves with the new sounds and continue the never-ending search for Taylor’s famous “Easter eggs” hidden within. As Swifties flood social media with favorites, questions and speculations, Taylor is also joining in the fun sharing her review of the finished product, and gratitude for those who made it possible.

Midnights is a wild ride of an album and I couldn’t be happier that my co-pilot on this adventure was Jack Antonoff,” she wrote. “He’s my friend for life (presumptuous I know but I stand by it) and we’ve been making music together for nearly a decade.”

She continued, “This is our first album we’ve done with just the two of us as main collaborators. [The result] is a collage of intensity, highs and lows and ebbs and flows. Life can be dark, starry, cloudy, terrifying, electrifying, hot, cold, romantic or lonely… Just like Midnights. Which is out now.”

In true Swift fashion, the release of the album marks only the beginning of the fun. Just hours later, the 11-time GRAMMY winner released the music video for “Anti-Hero,” which is her next single to radio. Additionally, Swift revealed she’ll release a second music video on October 25 for a yet-to-be-announced song from the project.

Swift has also shared her full social calendar for the weeks following the release which includes appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Graham Norton Show in the U.K and much more.
