With less than one week until Halloween, a new ranking of the best and worst Halloween candy has sparked fresh debate — but there’s a familiar sweet that’s, once again, near the bottom of the list.
“Candy Corn always comes out as the worst Halloween candy ever,” said Phil Lempert, who founded supermarketguru.com.
Lempert joined the WBBM Noon Business Hour to share the results of a survey from candystore.com, which asked 30,000 people to list the worst Halloween candy.
According to the survey, Candy Corn caught a break in 2022.
“The No. 1 worst is Candy Buttons, No. 2 are Smarties, No. 3 are Tootsie Rolls — and I totally disagree with that — Necco Wafers, No.4, and Candy Corn is No. 5,” Lempert said.
